First Aid Responder

First Aid Responder

Introduction

First Aid Response or FAR is a new education and training standard. It's a foundation first aid course that trains course participants to provide first aid for a person who becomes suddenly unwell or injured until the arrival of emergency medical services. FAR includes the full Cardiac First Response Community standard also.

PHECC FAR Course

This standard offers training and certification to individuals and groups who require a first aid skill set including cardiac first response. This standard is designed to meet basic first aid and basic life support (BLS) requirements that a certified person, known as a “First Aid Responder”, may encounter in their normal daily activities.

All our teaching staff are registered FAR instructors with PHECC (Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council). This comprehensive course is designed to give the First Aider the skills necessary to give effective life support, diagnose & treat injuries or illness, and maintain care and comfort of the casualty until further help arrives.

This three-day course covers a comprehensive range of topics as laid down by the PHECC and aims to prepare the qualified First Aid Responder to administer emergency care in the workplace. Participants will learn a high level of practical skill and theoretical knowledge, so that they can deal competently with any situation that may arise in the working environment.

All participants receive a comprehensive first aid manual, designed by first aid and ambulance instructors here in Ireland. Upon successful completion of the course and examination, participants are presented with a First Aid Responder certificate, which is valid for Two years.
