Introduction

The Occupational First Aid Regulations were published in 1993. These regulations imposed a mandatory requirement on all employers to have a specified minimum number of Occupational First Aiders trained and deployed in the workplace.

 

Legal Requirements For First Aid In The Workplace

With full HSA approved training our Occupational First Aid courses will satisfy your legal requirements for Health and Safety. All our teaching staff are registered Occupational First Aid instructors with OFAAA.FETAC & HSA.This comprehensive course is designed to give the First Aider the skills necessary to give effective life support, diagnose & treat injuries or illness, and maintain care and comfort of the casualty until further help arrives.

This three day course covers a comprehensive range of topics to prepare the qualified Occupational First Aider to administer emergency care in the workplace. Participants will learn a high level of practical skill and theoretical knowledge, so that they can deal competently with any situation that may arise in the working environment.

All participants receive a comprehensive first aid manual, designed by first aid and ambulance instructors here in Ireland. The assessment is conducted by an independent examiner approved by FETAC. Upon successful completion of the course and examination, participants are presented with an Occupational First Aid Certificate, which is valid for Two years.
